Introducing a better Mentor Check-In Page!

We're rolling out an update to ImBlaze that makes it easier for mentors to share how an experience is going, easier for advisors to support them in real time, and easier for everyone to keep attendance accurate — all in one refreshed Mentor Verification and Feedback page.

What's next:

A little further down the road, we'll be rolling out a library of resources for mentors — things like "Ideas for working with my mentee" — to help them get even more out of the experience.

What's changing:

  • Emoji and text-based mentor feedback Mentors can now share how a day went in seconds, choosing from a set of emoji moods and adding a quick note for their student's educator. No more guessing how an experience is really going — advisors can see it day by day.

  • A new tab to review feedback Educators get a dedicated tab in the ImBlaze portal to review mentor feedback across all of their students in one place, making it easy to spot a student who's thriving or one who might need a check-in.

  • Mentors can edit time, not just confirm it Previously, if a logged time was wrong, a mentor would deny it, leave a comment explaining why, and wait for an advisor to read the comment and manually update the time. That's three steps too many. Now mentors can edit the check-in or check-out time directly, and advisors are notified right in the platform.

  • Self-serve text verification Enrolling in text message verification used to require an educator to enter a mentor's cell number and toggle on SMS notifications on their behalf. Now mentors can add their own cell number and opt in themselves — no educator in the loop required.

Why we built this:

We heard three things loud and clear:

  1. Educators want a better pulse on the experience. Knowing how a mentor is feeling day to day helps advisors step in with the right support at the right time — not after the fact.

  2. Fixing a time entry took too many steps. Deny, comment, wait, correct. We cut that down to a single edit.

  3. Getting set up for text verification was clunky. Now it takes mentors a minute to do it themselves.

We're excited for mentors and educators to try this out. As always, reach out with questions or feedback.
