🔥Sneak Peek: New Features Coming to ImBlaze

Updated: May 29

This summer, ImBlaze is rolling out HUGE updates, designed to tackle some long-standing feature requests. These features are the result of years of feedback from educators and students, supported by two major grant competition wins, The Tools Competition and Salesforce AI Accelerator!

Why the Change?

ImBlaze is being revamped with one central goal: more students having powerful experiences. The team recognized a few recurring challenges:

  • Students struggle to find exciting, relevant opportunities.

  • Educators face friction in adding quality postings.

  • Traditional keyword search methods don’t match how students explore content today.

  • The internship process for students is often unfamiliar, slowing engagement.

The updates aim to reduce these pain points while amplifying student agency, educator support, and data quality.

Here’s your inside look at what’s coming:

Customizable Student Process Flows

Educators can now set tailored internship processes for their schools—request to pursue, outreach, interview, shadow day, start request—making the path clear and guided for students from their very first login.

Attendance 2.0: Swipe to Check In

A single swipe now records student attendance, with optional custom questions asked afterward. Students see a live timer while checked in and can now mark themselves absent, sending instant alerts to educators and mentors.

Milestones Instead of Daily Goals

Replacing the less-effective “daily goals and accomplishments,” students, educators, and mentors can now add milestones to a student's internship journey at any time—capturing meaningful moments and enabling better storytelling for presentations and portfolios.

Internship Notes App

Students can now log thoughts, reminders, and insights about their internships directly within ImBlaze. Advisors and mentors also get access to these notes, opening new doors for reflective learning and communication.

Interest-Based Search

Say goodbye to drop-downs and keyword filters. Students will be able to select topics that excite them, and ImBlaze curates personalized recommended opportunities—removing the barrier of not knowing “what to search for.”

External Opportunity Discovery

If nothing matches a student’s interests, ImBlaze will now scrape the web for local businesses aligned with their passions. Students can choose a company and potential mentor, and ImBlaze will auto-fill a new opportunity posting for coordinator review.

“Potential Projects” Preview

Each listing will now include a potential project field, helping students envision what they might actually do in that role. These descriptions can even be auto-generated using AI.

Quick Add & Field Help for Educators

Educators will be able to auto-generate opportunity entries using AI! Just input the mentor/company, and ImBlaze will fetch address, email, company bio, suggested tasks, and more. Less manual work. Higher quality listings.

Biweekly Internship Rating

Every two weeks, students will be prompted to rate their internship experience (1–5 stars) before checking in—helping educators catch early signs of misalignment and track internship quality over time.

Google & Apple Single Sign-On

No more login headaches! The mobile app now supports both Google and Apple SSO, making it easier for students to access ImBlaze.

Smart Text Message Reminders

Students and mentors can opt-in to receive timed SMS reminders! Students get nudges to check in/out and mentors can approve hours directly via text.
